Surge - Matte Black - Red Sunset is Detour’s sport-first frame built to stay secure when you’re moving. Designed for the batting cages, the trails, and the long miles, Surge is made for performance use where comfort and stability matter. The fit is adjustable where you need it most: wire-core arms and customizable nose pads help you dial in a secure, comfortable feel so you can move freely without constant readjustments.
Vision is tuned for focus. Surge uses Detour’s HiFi high-contrast lenses, designed to sharpen your surroundings, enhance colors, and define details so you can stay locked in on what’s ahead. For impact-ready confidence, Surge includes ANSI Z87+ safety ratings and impact protection, and it’s ANSI Z87+ certified.
Detour also calls out the lens construction used in the Surge line. Surge uses PC (polycarbonate) lenses, described as a huge upgrade over traditional TAC lenses, because the lens material is injected around the Hi-Fi (high contrast) filter. Detour notes this prevents layers from separating, which can be common in humid high temperature locations or if you store your sunglasses in your car.
To keep your lenses clearer with less effort, the oleophobic lens coating adds a barrier that makes wiping smudges effortless and helps extend the life of your lenses. The hydrophobic coating repels water, keeps your vision clear, and helps you avoid wiping lenses dry, again extending lens life. Sweat proof, oil proof coatings round out the build for active use.

Fit Guide: Our Surge frame fits Medium/Large faces best. Measurements shown: 140 mm (width), 60 mm (lens height), 151 mm (nose pad to arm tip). Nose pads are adjustable.
