This frame is made for real-world impact. Surge has ANSI Z87+ safety ratings and impact protection, and it is ANSI Z87+ certified. That makes it a solid option when you want sport performance with added peace of mind.
Detour also details the lens construction used in the Surge line. Surge uses PC (polycarbonate) lenses, described as a huge upgrade over traditional TAC lenses, with lens material injected around the Hi-Fi (high contrast) filter to prevent layers from separating. Detour notes this separation can be common in humid, high temperature locations or if you store your sunglasses in your car.
To keep your lenses clearer with less effort, the oleophobic lens coating adds a barrier that makes wiping smudges effortless and helps extend the life of your lenses. The hydrophobic coating repels water to keep your vision clear and helps you avoid wiping lenses dry, again extending the life of your lenses. Sweat proof, oil proof coatings help the lenses handle active use.

Fit Guide: Our Surge frame fits Medium/Large faces best. Measurements shown: 140 mm (front width), 60 mm (lens height), 151 mm (nose pad to arm tip). Nose area is shown as adjustable.
