Surge is Detour’s first ever frame built purely for sport. The fit is adjustable where it matters most: wire-core arms and customizable nose pads help you dial in a secure, comfortable fit so you can move freely without constant readjustments. On the lens side, Detour’s HiFi high-contrast lenses are made to sharpen your surroundings, enhance colors, and define details so you can stay focused on what’s ahead.
For added confidence in demanding use, Surge XL comes with ANSI Z87+ safety ratings and impact protection, and it’s ANSI Z87+ certified—ready for all the curveballs.
Detour also explains the lens construction used in the Surge line. These use PC (polycarbonate) lenses, with the lens material injected around the Hi-Fi (high contrast) filter to prevent layers from separating, which can be common in humid high temperature locations or if you store your sunglasses in your car. An oleophobic lens coating helps make wiping smudges effortless and supports longer lens life, while a hydrophobic coating repels water to help keep your vision clear. A drawstring pouch is included to keep your shades protected and clean.

FIT & SIZING
Fit Guide: Our Surge XL frame fits Large/XL faces best. Measurements shown: 157 mm (frame width), 60 mm (lens height), 151 mm (nose pad to arm tip). Nose pad area is labeled adjustable. Detour notes XL sunglasses are roughly 8%–10% bigger than their average size and recommends XL if sunglasses normally feel tight or don’t cover all of your eye region.

Our Surge line uses PC (polycarbonate) lenses. This is a huge upgrade over traditional TAC lenses since the lens material is injected around our Hi-Fi™ (high contrast) filter. This prevents these layers from ever separating which can be common in humid high temperature locations or if you store your sunglasses in your car.

The oleophobic lens coating adds a barrier that makes wiping smudges effortless and helps extend the life of your lenses. The Hydrophobic coating will repel water keeping your vision clear and avoiding the need to wipe your lenses dry, again extending the life of your lenses.
