Surge is Detour’s first-ever frame built purely for sport. It’s designed for the batting cages, the trails, and the long miles, with adjustability that helps you stay locked in while you move. The arms have a wire-core interior so you can fine-tune the fit, and the adjustable nose pads let you dial in a secure, comfortable hold without constant slipping or pressure points.
For clarity, Surge XL uses HiFi high-contrast lens tech to sharpen your surroundings, enhance colors, and define details so you can stay focused on what’s ahead. It’s also ANSI Z87+ certified with impact protection, making it ready for all the curveballs.
Detour’s Surge line uses PC (polycarbonate) lenses, described as a big upgrade over traditional TAC lenses because the lens material is injected around the Hi-Fi (high contrast) filter to prevent layers from separating—something that can happen in humid, high-temperature locations or if sunglasses are stored in a car. The oleophobic coating adds a barrier that makes wiping smudges effortless, while the hydrophobic coating repels water to help keep your vision clear and reduce the need to wipe lenses dry. FIT & SIZING
Fit Guide: Our Surge XL frame fits Large/XL faces best. Measurements shown: 157 mm width, 60 mm height, 151 mm (*nose pad to arm tip). Nose pads are adjustable. Detour also states their XL sunglasses are roughly 8%–10% bigger than their average size—if sunglasses normally feel tight or don’t cover all of your eye region, you should try XL.

Our Surge line uses PC (polycarbonate) lenses. This is a huge upgrade over traditional TAC lenses since the lens material is injected around our Hi-Fi™ (high contrast) filter. This prevents these layers from ever separating which can be common in humid high temperature locations or if you store your sunglasses in your car.

These things are next level legit. I’ve never in my life had a pair of shades fit my melon so good. The adjustable nose clip lets you decide how they sit on your face. The pair on the right is a “normal” pair. The ones on the left are the Detours.
