Surge is Detour’s first frame built purely for sport, with adjustable wire-core arms and adjustable nose pads so you can dial in a secure, comfortable fit. Whether you’re in the batting cages, pushing down a trail, or logging long miles, the goal is simple: move freely without constantly readjusting your shades.
The Surge XL uses HiFi high-contrast lens tech to sharpen your surroundings, enhance colors, and define details so you can stay focused on what’s ahead. For added confidence in active settings, Surge carries an ANSI Z87+ safety rating with impact protection, ready for all the curveballs.
This line uses PC (polycarbonate) lenses—an upgrade over traditional TAC lenses—with the lens material injected around the Hi-Fi high-contrast filter to help prevent layer separation that can happen in humid, high-temperature conditions or if sunglasses are stored in a car. An oleophobic coating adds a barrier that makes wiping smudges effortless, while a hydrophobic coating repels water to help keep your vision clear. Finished with sweat proof, oil proof coatings, these lenses are made for real-world wear.
Each pair comes with a drawstring pouch to keep your shades protected and clean.

FIT & SIZING
Surge XL is an XL fit designed for bigger heads and fits Large/XL faces best. Detour notes their XL sunglasses are roughly 8%–10% bigger than their average size—if sunglasses usually feel tight or don’t cover all of your eye region, you should try the XL. Fit guide measurements: 157 mm width, 60 mm height, 151 mm (*nose pad to arm tip). Nose pads are adjustable.

Our Surge line uses PC (polycarbonate) lenses. This is a huge upgrade over traditional TAC lenses since the lens material is injected around our Hi-Fi™ (high contrast) filter. This prevents these layers from ever separating which can be common in humid high temperature locations or if you store your sunglasses in your car.

The oleophobic lens coating adds a barrier that makes wiping smudges effortless and helps extend the life of your lenses. The Hydrophobic coating will repel water keeping your vision clear and avoiding the need to wipe your lenses dry, again extending the life of your lenses.

These things are next level legit. I’ve never in my life had a pair of shades fit my melon so good. The adjustable nose clip lets you decide how they sit on your face. The pair on the right is a “normal” pair. The ones on the left are the Detours.
