The fit is adjustable where it matters: wire-core arms and customizable nose pads let you dial in a secure, comfortable fit so you can move freely without distraction.
For clarity and focus, Surge Youth uses HiFi high-contrast lenses designed to sharpen your surroundings, enhance colors, and define details—helpful when you’re tracking what’s ahead at speed. This frame is also ANSI Z87+ certified, with ANSI Z87+ safety ratings and impact protection, so it’s ready for active use where durability counts.
Detour’s Surge line uses PC (polycarbonate) lenses. Detour describes this as a huge upgrade over traditional TAC lenses because the lens material is injected around the Hi-Fi (high contrast) filter to prevent the layers from separating—something that can be common in humid, high temperature locations or if you store your sunglasses in your car. To make day-to-day wear easier, the oleophobic lens coating adds a barrier that makes wiping smudges effortless and helps extend lens life. The hydrophobic coating repels water to keep your vision clear and helps you avoid wiping lenses dry, again extending lens life. Sweat proof, oil proof coatings round out the build for real sport conditions.
